Dr. Scott D. Burnop
Born and raised in Marion, Virginia, Dr. Burnop is not only a local business owner but a resident of the community as well. Dr. Burnop attended Marion High School and after graduation received his degree in Biology and Premed from James Madison University. He decided on a career in optometry after experiencing an eye condition that required corrective surgery.  During his undergraduate years, he spent the summers working with his mentor, Dr. John Jones. He attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now known as Salus University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he earned his Doctor of Optometry.  

He joined Dr. Thomas Vogelwede in 1999 and Royal Oak Eye Care was born shortly thereafter.
Dr. Burnop is active in community endeavors including the Marion Rotary Club and the Marion Downtown Revitalization.  When not providing outstanding eye care, Dr. Burnop enjoys hiking, biking, golf, and running.

Dr. Joseph Morris
Dr. Morris, originally from Bristol, Tennessee, received his B.S. degree from East Tennessee State University and his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He also completed post-graduate work at Old Dominion University, State University of New York, and University of Houston.  Following graduation, he served as an optometrist for the U.S. Navy where he was recognized for his work with Vietnam POW's

He has been at his present practice location in Glade Spring for the past 40 years where he and his wife Lesa have had the privilege of providing eye care for the community. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, gardening, and running. Dr. Morris is a member of the United States Running Streak Association, Inc. To earn membership, a runner must run at least one mile every day for at least a year.  He has run at least one mile every day since December 28, 2001!
